The Rountree Ensemble performed pieces of Mozart Feb. 24 in the CFA. The ensembles final performance will be at 7:30 p.m. on April 14.

Precise timing and coordination created a lively and entertaining performance by the Rountree Ensemble Feb. 24. The performance was at the Center for the Arts in the Brodbeck Concert Hall.

“Music, even in situations of the greatest horror, should never be painful to the ear but should flatter and charm it, and thereby always remain music,” spoken long ago by Mozart, whose music was featured in Wednesday’s performance. The Ensemble held true to the words as they flattered and charmed their way through four pieces.

The Ensemble consisted of four pieces and included instruments from the woodwind, brass and string families. Mozart composed all music performed in the concert.

“Mozart’s music has always been intriguing to me so I was excited to attend the concert,” sophomore physical education major Ashlee Cerjak said. “The music was very well played and enjoyable to listen to.”

Cerjak was one of many other students and spectators who attended the Rountree Ensemble.

The ensemble will perform their final concert of the 2009-10 season at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 14.
