Due to the renovations, absolutely no gum will be tolerated in the PAC. Anyone caught chewing will be kicked out for a minimum two week period.
Next in line was the indoor track and multi-area of Williams Fieldhouse, which started its transformation during finals week of fall semester 2009 and reopened Jan. 25. The indoor track was resurfaced along with the multi-area for basketball and other sport activities. Racquetball courts are also reopened for student use.
The largest renovation is still currently under construction, a 19, 200 square foot weight room. The new entrance for the weight room will be through one of the racquetball courts. Entering the lower level of the weight room will give users access to free weights and select resistance equipment. The back corner of the lower level will include a video room and an outdoor recreation sports office with check out and storage area.
A stairway in the weight room will lead to the upper level, which consists of cardio equipment, multipurpose cardio/aerobic exercise rooms, a fitness lab office and restrooms. The old weight room will be converted to a wrestling practice gym, while the wrestling room will be converted to office space.
Brand new renovations brought new rules to the PAC; only water is allowed in the weight room, track and multi-area and you are encouraged to bring an extra pair of shoes due to salt and snow outside. Effective as of Jan. 25, no gum is allowed in the weight room, pool, racquetball courts, indoor/outdoor track and gym or multi area. Anyone caught with gum in these facilities will receive a two week suspension from the PAC.
