On the fly: Early points lead to victory against Central College

The Pioneer women’s basketball team early push against Central College led to UW-Platteville scoring the first 15 points on the board at Bo Ryan Court on Nov. 28.

Senior Charity Stotmeister led the team with 21 points, followed by freshman Clare Poad with 11 points. Junior Ashley Wolf, senior Stacia Nemitz and freshman Liz Lawinger each put up 10 points to help secure the Pioneers’ win.

The Pioneers improved to a 4-1 season.

UW-P will host UW-Superior in a double header with the men’s team at 1 p.m. Saturday Dec. 5.

Men’s cross country ranked ninth in the nation

The men’s cross country team featured nine runners going to the NCAA Division III tournament on Nov. 21. The squad finished ninth nationally, the best finish in school history. Stay tuned to the Exponent for a more in depth look at the nationally-ranked team.

Athletics selling surplus equipment

Sports fans will get their chance to score big deals with Pioneers athletic apparel during the surplus sale. The athletic department will host the sale in the pool balcony of the Williams Fieldhouse.

The sale will feature equipment, jackets, shorts, warm-ups, sweat pants, bags and uniforms.

The sale will run Thursday-Saturday; the sale is open 3-7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday.

Next Kid’s Night Dec. 11

The next Kid’s Night will be ran by the cross country team in the Williams Fieldhouse on Dec. 11.
