The CFA hosted the Baroque Bash Flute Concert Nov. 23. The Flute Choir has been performing each semester for the past five years.
The show was at 7:30 p.m. and had about 50 audience members. The performers included the UW-P flute choir and “The Fab Five.”
Flute Choir has been performing once a semester for five years as a combination of faculty, guest performers and students.
The group performed selections from the Baroque time period, including pieces from Mozart, Vivaldi and Bach under the direction of Margaret Cornils.
“The flute choir this semester did splendidly well,” Cornils said. “It was so much fun and we had a great crowd.”
Cornils started flue choir five years ago and has performed every semester. At every performance, Cornils invites a special guest to the stage to enhance the show. She has already begun planning for next semester’s concert which will be a transcription of “Mother Goose Suite” by Ravel. Next semester’s special guests will high school students that Cornils provides private lessons for.
Stadtmueller said flute choir has been practicing every Monday night for an hour since the beginning of the semester.
“I really like performing, the show went well and the girls were awesome to work with,” Stadtmueller said. “They are all very supportive of each other.”
The flute choir will be performing next at The Holiday Gala Dec. 5-6 and will begin work on next semester’s concert shortly following winter break.
