Bo Eason performed his one-man-play “Runt of the Litter,” Nov. 12-13.

Eason turned writer and actor upon retirement from his football career, after proving to those around him that he could play professional ball.

At 9 years old, Eason sat down with a crayon and drew out his life’s plan, and he knew he would play football in the NFL. He was also determined to be the best in the his position. Eason was told since high school he was too little to play, but instead of quitting he practice day after day to eventually earning a playing spot at a Division II college.

In 1984, Eason was a first-round draft selection of the Oilers.

After retiring from his childhood dream, Eason pursued another dream, and become an actor and writer. “Runt of the Litter,” is a one-man play Eason wrote about his life, in which he also stars. Eason’s sense of humor comes out in his antecdotes about his life, as he depicts the last hour of accomplishing his 20-Year Plan.

“Runt of the Litter” will soon be turned into a motion picture, and will be produced by Frank Darabont, director of “The Shawshank Redemption, “The Green Mile”.

Leonardo Dicaprio hired Eason to write the screenplay for a movie about the 1924 Olympic Rugby team.
