Freshman UW-P basketball player charged with OMVI

According to Platteville Police, Mitch Tordoff, freshman guard for the UW-P men’s basketball team, was stopped Nov. 17 for not having headlights on. According to the police report, after field sobriety tests were conducted, he was taken to the police department for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

Tordoff was unable to be reached for comment as of press time.

After being processed, Tordoff was released to a responsible party with a citation for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle with a prohibited alcohol content.

Underage alcohol consuption is a violation of the Athletic Code of Conduct. Consequences are decided by the head coach, with review by Athletic Director Mark Molesworth.

Both Molesworth and Jeff Gard, men’s basketball head coach, were unavailable for comment as of press time.
