On Nov. 3, CPR hosted Grocery Bingo in the Pioneer Crossing in the PSC. Jessica Nizzi, right, senior industrial engineering major, won a giant tub of cheese puffs and a two liter bottle of Cherry Pepsi.

Crackers, Pringles, Snack Packs, Capri Sun, Easy Mac, two-liter bottles of soda, animal crackers, M&Ms, laundry detergent, dryer sheets and laundry baskets were the prizes awarded at Grocery Bingo. Approximately 100 people attended on Nov. 3 in the Pioneer Crossing.

Combinations of prizes were made by the members of Campus Programming and Relations. The night started with some small prizes including soda and cheese balls. As the night went on, the prizes got bigger. The ending prize was a laundry basket with bleach, detergent, dryer sheets, a blanket, candy and a Snack Pack.

The first game played was won by three participants. One of the winners was Jessica Nizzi, senior, industrial engineering major was very happy to have won. The rule was that you could win one small prize and one large prize. Chelsea Davis was the winner of the first big prize, proving that it was all based on luck because she had arrived to the event a mere five minutes before winning that round.

“Bingo was really fun but it could have gone a little faster,” engineering major Evan Grahn said.

The night was rolling along smoothly with the hosts making jokes, but towards the end of the night attitudes had grown tired. Many participants were upset at not winning when they had so many prizes to start out with. Even the hosts were tired; the last game was played in warp speed.

Still, some were laughing and enjoying themselves, winners or not.

“Tonight was crazy, Bingo was really fun,” mechanical engineering major, Neil Belanus said.

CPR wrapped up the night with the acknowledgment of spring break bingo and the two-for-one comedy night Nov. 7 also in the Pioneer Crossing.
