UW-Platteville student charged with selling alcohol to minors at Oct. 10 party
By Randall Stricklin • October 14, 2009 • Category: News, Top StoryA UW-Platteville student is being charged with multiple counts of selling alcohol to or procuring alcohol for a minor after a party was busted at the student’s residence on Old Lancaster Road during Homecoming Weekend. About 200 people were estimated to be in attendance.
According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Department press release, at around 1:20 a.m. Oct. 10 four deputies confiscated six half barrels of beer in addition to other assorted alcoholic beverages and issued 27 underage drinking tickets at the residence of mechanical engineering major Jack Jewison. While other people live at the residence with Jewison, he is the owner of the residence.
Jewison said that he had left earlier in the night and was not at the residence when police showed up.
