UW-Platteville assistant chancellor presents budget to Student Senate

The total cut of state funding was $8.5 million. Cramer also explained the state deficit for the 2009 – 2011 budget and the projections for a higher deficit in the 2011 – 2013 budget. The 5.5 percent increase in tuition cut the deficit by nearly $1 million. “We are looking at less and less state support and the students picking up a larger share,” Cramer said.
Senator submits resignation letter
Student Senate discussed the resignation letter of College of Liberal Arts and Education Senator Angela Jones in Monday’s meeting. Jones detailed how she could not devote enough time to Senate as Senate deserved. Student Senate unanimously approved the resignation.
“It shows a lot of character that she was willing to take the steps she needed to,” College of Business, Industry, Life Science and Agriculture Senator Hanah Diebold said.
