Day wins circuit court election despite Curry’s favor in Platteville

Challenger Craig Day defeated incumbent George Curry in the election for Grant County Circuit Court judge election that was held on April 7, receiving 6,225 votes in comparison to the 4,307 votes in Curry’s favor.
The results are likely to come as a surprise to residents of Platteville and members of the UW-P campus, both of which had voting numbers overwhelmingly in Curry’s favor. Here’s a breakdown of the votes:
Craig Day
Grant County: 6,225 votes
Platteville: 592 votes
Platteville’s 3rd district (including the UW-P campus): 38 votes
George Curry
Grant County: 4,307 votes
Platteville: 994 votes
Platteville’s 3rd district (including the UW-P campus): 98 votes
