Letter To The Editor: Asia Club

By • February 26, 2009 • Category: Uncategorized

First off, I would like to express my gratitude for the feature on ASIA Club in the Feb. 19, 2009 issue. However, I would like to clarify and elaborate on a few points.

The name of ASIA Club’s upcoming event on Wed. March 4, 2009 was printed as “Taste of ASIA”, though the actual name of this event is “Asian Spring Night.” I noticed that both names were used in the article which I found could be confusing to the readers if it is not clarified. Asian Spring Night is also co-sponsored by CPR.

Although ASIA Club’s program this semester has a new name, it serves the same purpose as Taste of Asia: to educate our campus and community about our different Asian cultures through educational entertainment. The minor difference between the two events is that food will no longer be provided at the event. We do not want to give the wrong impression to our guests that there would be food provided at the event judging from the name. Therefore, we have changed it to Asian Spring Night.

ASIA Club has held many successful events in the past eleven consecutive years including, but not limited to, Taste of Asia in the spring and our fall program, Asian American Night. Our organization is very dedicated to our Asian educational programs and we work hard to keep our guest coming back year after year.
