Information Services duties will be divided
By Exponent Brief • December 4, 2008 • Category: NewsThe responsibilities of John Krogman, vice chancellor of Information Services, who is leaving to accept a position at UW-Madison, will be divided amongst several administrative offices, the Exponent has learned.
Krogman, who is leaving to take a position in the Office of Information Technology at UW-Madison, managed Alternative Delivery Systems, Institutional Research, the Karmann Library, Web Development and Information Technology.
Alternative Delivery Systems, and Institutional Research will now report to Provost Carol Sue Butts.
The Karman Library will report to David Van Buren, associate vice chancellor and dean of graduate studies. In early 2009, the university will search for a library director.
Web Development will report to University Advancement under Dennis Cooley.
Information Technology, which includes the Learning Technology Center, Media Technology Services, IT Development, Networking, IT Operations, the OIT Help Desk and Distributed Support will report to Administrative Services under Robert Cramer. An interim director of Information Technology will be appointed in the future.
“Right now we are not filling John’s position,” Butts said.
Budget issues, Butts said, was the main reason the position was not being filled at this time. Krogman made, $113,649 this year. Butts said there is no timetable to fill the position.
