UW-P employees’ home damaged by fire
By Exponent Brief • April 10, 2008 • Category: NewsAt approximately 5 p.m. April 6, a fire occurred at 1005 Manoj Dr. in Platteville, the home of Lee and Osama Jadaan.
Lee Jadaan is UW-Platteville’s director of public relations. Osama Jadaan is a professor of general engineering.
The fire originated in the kitchen, David Langkamp, assistant fire chief for the city of Platteville, said. The kitchen and the contents of the house received heavy smoke damage.
According to a news release issued by Platteville fire chief Robert Leighty, there was water damage throughout the first floor and the basement of the house. The fire department was dispatched at 5:09 p.m. and had the fire under control within 20 minutes. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The smoke from the fire could be seen from the UW-P campus.
