Voting & Valentine’s Day

By Exponent Brief • February 21, 2008 • Category: Letters to the Editor

I would like to commend the Exponent for their delegate coverage in the Feb. 14 issue. I follow the delegates and election process closely, but I know that a lot of college students do not have the time or ambition to do so. The Exponent did a great job of providing “at a glance” coverage of the delegates and their position on some key issues. I was also thrilled to see the small “How to Vote” blurb. The election process can be confusing: not knowing when to vote, where to vote or what you need to vote on, but the Exponent cleared it up in two brief paragraphs. Nicely done.

I also want to express my delight with the “Valentine’s Day shouldn’t be special” column. It explained just what I’ve always thought about the holiday. Valentine’s Day shouldn’t be an obligation to do something nice for a significant other, it should be an opportunity to remind him or her how much you care (though you certainly don’t need a holiday to do that).

Thanks for putting out a great issue!
