Exponent changes Web site

As of today, the Exponent can be found at a new Web address. The newspaper developed a new site unaffiliated with the UW-Platteville Web site. The new URL for the Web site is www.uwpexponent.org.

“We needed a new Web site for a long time,” Andrew Reuter, managing editor for the Exponent, said. “There are a lot of features that we couldn’t do with the old site.”

Readers can search the newspaper archives using a keyword, author or date of publication. Also, each article has its own unique URL.

The new Web site also features the ability to provide new types of content that might not be found in the print version of the Exponent.

“In the future, we are going to have more multimedia content on the site,” Reuter said. “Eventually, short movies and interactive content will be available for readers.”

Staff members have are several other ideas for inclusion on the site, Reuter said. Among the future possible are user comments, polls, editors’ blogs, user submitted content, and biographical information for staff members.

“We’ll have some pretty cool stuff coming in the future, so keep an eye on it.”
